Under the direction of Prof. Bruce McInnes, 50 men from 28 states and 2 foreign countries specialize in the performance of wide-ranging programs of male choral works including sacred music, folk songs from around the world, and American spirituals. Mastersingers USA has performed both throughout the United States and internationally, winning First Place in the Male Choir Competition at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales in 2003. In 2005, the group was chosen to represent the United States in the First International Congress of Men’s Choirs in Barcelona, Spain. The group has performed in nearly 20 European countries since its founding in 1995, including some of the continent’s major cathedrals – as well as festivals, and parks (… and more than a few street corners, too).
Prof. Bruce McInnes’ is currently an Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Maine at Farmington, where he conducts the UMF Community Chorus. His 50-year career as a choir director and music professor included positions at Amherst College and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, as well as other institutions.
