The award-winning Mastersingers USA will perform a concert Saturday, June 30 at 7:00 PM at the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas on the St. Paul campus of the University of St. Thomas. The address of the chapel is 2115 Summit Avenue, St. Paul, MN. The concert is FREE OF CHARGE.

Under the direction of Prof. Bruce McInnes, 60 men from 28 states and 2 foreign countries will perform a wide-ranging program of sacred music, folk songs from around the world, and American spirituals.  Mastersingers USA is a male choir that has performed both throughout the United States and internationally, winning First Place in the Male Choir Competition at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales in 2003. In 2005, the group was chosen to represent the United States in the First International Congress of Men’s Choirs in Barcelona, Spain. The group has performed in nearly 20 countries across Europe since its founding in 1996, including some of the continent’s major cathedrals – as well as festivals, parks (and street corners, too).

The choir includes men from across the USA, nearly all of whom have sung with Prof. Bruce McInnes in his career as a music professor at Amherst College and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, as well as other institutions in a career spanning nearly 50 years. Prof. McInnes is currently an Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Maine at Farmington, where he conducts the UMF Community Chorus.
